The workshop will draw from expertise and insight on solutions to our city’s housing crisis, the impact of homelessness and how we can create affordable homes for diverse and thriving communities.
Through the workshop CRJ hopes to bring information about affordable housing to the Santa Monica community. Speakers will include Patricia Hoffman, a leader in Santa Monica Renters Rights (SMRR) who will tell us about a critical California ballot initiative in the November election and Alisa Orduña, Senior Advisor on Homelessness who was recently appointed to coordinate Santa Monica’s efforts to address homelessness. Orduña formerly served as the Director of Homelessness Policy for the Office of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
As usual, we will be meeting in the Thelma Terry Bldg. at Virginia Avenue Park in Santa Monica at 6pm for potluck supper and the program starts at 6:30 pm.
This is part of an ongoing monthly workshop series sponsored by the Committee For Racial Justice. Co-sponsored by Virginia Ave. Park; the African American Parent, Staff, Student Support Group; and the Church in Ocean Park.
